The JJCE Faculty Scholars Program is a campus-wide initiative that integrates and embeds entrepreneurial thinking across disciplines at CU Denver. Every academic year, one faculty member per school or college serves as a scholar, encouraging entrepreneurial collaboration in their academic area.

2026-27 Faculty Scholars

Keith Guzik

Dr. Keith Guzik is Professor of Sociology at the University of Colorado Denver. He has also served as Chair of the Sociology Department since 2023. His areas of interest include the intersection of technology, law, and society. He regularly teaches Technology and Social Change, Qualitative Methods, and Social Theory for the department. At CU Denver, he has worked to bridge the gap between academics and industry to strengthen both and enhance student outcomes. Currently, he is researching the sociological foundations of organizational studies to inform work processes and systems and support smaller public and private organizations.

Alexander Thomen

Alex Thomen is Assistant Professor and Program Director of Recording Arts at the University of Colorado Denver, where he teaches courses in audio post-production, immersive audio, music production, and Pro Tools certification. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition from Kansas State University and a Master of Music in Commercial Composition and Arranging from Belmont University. His work as an educator reflects a commitment to preparing the next generation of audio professionals through the integration of creative practice, technical excellence, and industry-relevant instruction.

Robyn Mobbs

Robyn Mobbs is an Associate Teaching Professor at the University of Colorado Denver’s School of Public Affairs. She is passionate about teaching and research in leadership, management, negotiation, collaboration, teamwork, and systems science, with a strong emphasis on bridging theory and practice to address complex organizational and societal challenges. Robyn currently directs CU Denver’s Constructive Dialogue Initiative and Center on Network Science and has held a range of other academic leadership roles, including directing graduate, undergraduate, and international degree programs.
