Doug Bonnette

Doug has more than 38 years of experience in global financial and business management. He recently retired as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Crestone Capital LLC, a Boulder-based independent wealth management firm with over $2.2 billion in client capital under management. Doug was a founding partner of Crestone in 2001 and continues to serve on its Advisory Board.

Prior to joining Crestone, Doug was Vice President of Finance at Rental Service Corporation, an $800 million annual revenue NYSE-listed equipment rental and sales company. He led merger and acquisition valuation and accounting for over 35 transactions valued individually at up to $100 million and was also responsible for various investor relations activities, secondary stock offerings, and debt financing transactions.

Doug also served as CFO for Center Rental and Sales, a $48 million annual revenue privately held construction equipment rental and sales company headquartered in Denver, and as CFO at Guerdon Industries, a $120 million annual revenue privately held manufacturing company. He started his professional career at Ernst & Ernst in Denver in 1979. Doug is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Colorado Society of CPAs. He is also a member of the Advisory Board for Banner Signs and Decals, a small Denver-based privately held company. Doug received his BS degree in Accounting from Miami University. He held a FINRA Series 27 license as the Financial Operations Principal for Crestone. Doug is a CPA licensed (inactive) in the State of Colorado.

Paul Foley

Paul was born in Boulder and grew up in Louisville, CO, with a mission to incubate and grow industry-changing companies here in the state. Paul is the CEO and co-founder of SmartCapital, a software that allows VC firms and angel groups to manage their investor networks and facilitate investments. He is also Managing Director of Denver Angels, an angel group that invests in the next generation of great Colorado companies.

Prior to SmartCapital Paul founded the AdTech company Augur which merged with BounceX and is now Wunderkind.

Laurence Freeman

Laurence Freeman

Laurence is a co-founder and CEO of Oakbay LLC, an intellectual property commercialization and management company located in Greenwood Village, CO.

Oakbay's main areas of focus are bioscience and data science. Other areas of focus are business development for several non-healthcare industries. Oakbay works with strategic tech transfer partners in the United States.

Born and raised in Leeds, United Kingdom, Laurence was educated at primary and grammar schools and continued a college education in Bradford, United Kingdom, attaining a Worshipful Company Spectacle Makers SMC (Disp.) plus a Fellow of the British Dispensing Opticians FBDO (Hons.). Laurence has been involved with the healthcare industry since 1978 in the UK, Southern Ireland, Canada, and the United States.

Laurence lives with his partner, Alanna, in South Metro Denver.

Matthew Jonsen

Matt is a partner in Dorsey & Whitney LLP’s chem/bio practice, where he uses his research experience in genetics, molecular biology, and oncology to help shepherd his client’s technologies from the R&D stage through to issued patents. Matt has helped his clients protect inventions relating to mammalian cells, monoclonal antibodies, plants, microbes, peptides, nucleic acids, chemical therapeutics, molecular diagnostics, and other technologies. His clients include established and emerging companies and research universities focused on diverse fields, including biopharmaceuticals, stem cell preservation and therapies, medical devices, DNA sequencing, human genetics, cannabis, animal husbandry, and renewable energy.

He received a Ph.D. from the University of Utah School of Medicine, and a B.A. in Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. His graduate work was directed toward understanding protein regulation through biophysical studies of DNA:protein interaction. Matt has extensive post-doctoral experience in human genetics and mammalian transcription factor regulation, most recently in the Department of Endocrinology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He received his J.D. from The University of Denver College of Law.

Patty Leslie

Patty Leslie

Patty joined the University of Colorado Foundation as the Vice President, Finance/Chief Financial Officer in March 2020. Patty is responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting functions of the Foundation. She plays a key role in developing, monitoring and evaluating financing and funding strategies and managing/executing on all aspects related to finance, accounting, investments and information technology.

Prior to joining the Foundation, she served as the CFO for the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) in Boulder, Colorado. Patty has spent most of her career working in the fields of non-profit corporations, education, and governmental agencies. She is an active CPA in the State of Colorado.

Patty was recently appointed to the UCAR Board of Trustees. She has served as a board member for the Boulder Convention and Visitors Bureau and as a finance committee member for the American Meteorological Society.

Patty earned her Master’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Denver and her MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

David Prichard

David is a highly respected, heavily involved Denver-area business leader and community influencer. David serves as the President of Teegarden Financial, a specialty finance and investment firm that partners with high net worth business owners, families, and executives throughout the country.

A serial entrepreneur, David is also a co-founder of Lazy Bee Ranch Honey, available on most grocery store shelves, as well as an owner or partner in a variety of other successful ventures including terra|mar, Recoup Fitness, Teakoe, mcSquares, Grandcesters, and others.

David has a passion for serving others and helping them along in their journey. Two of his favorite ways to do this are through serving on the board of The Women's Bean Project and working with entrepreneurs as the Managing Director of Denver Angels. David prides himself on bringing solutions to the table that effectively connect people and resources as they work to turn ideas into reality.

David moved to Colorado in 2004. He loves spending time with his kids (and all the band, cross country, basketball, etc. that goes with that!). In addition to family activities, he loves sports, is an Avalanche season ticket holder, and an avid Broncos fan. The Prichard family loves to travel, ski, and enjoy the Colorado outdoors together.
