THE CLIMB | Idea Contest
CU Denver’s Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship is excited to introduce the inaugural THE CLIMB | Idea Contest. This fully online event brings together entrepreneurship students and TechUp participants to pitch their most innovative concepts. The most creative, compelling, and cutting-edge idea will win a $2,000 cash prize!

THE CLIMB | Idea Contest has two available tracks. The first (“Student Track”) is open to all current CU Denver students. The second (“TechUp Track”) is open to all participants of our TechUp programs (the Seminar Series and Summer Incubator), as well as anyone who identifies as a BIPOC or underrepresented tech entrepreneur within the Denver area. Each track has its own $2,000 cash prize. If you qualify for both, please apply under the Student Track.
Please visit Startup Space to submit your application by Monday, Oct. 14 at midnight for this year’s THE CLIMB | Idea Contest. There is only one application form; however, all CU Denver students should apply under the “Student Track,” while TechUp participants and BIPOC and underrepresented entrepreneurs in the Denver area should apply under the “TechUp Track.”
All participants must be available to join this virtual event via Zoom on Thursday, Oct. 24th from 6 to 8 p.m.
- All applicants must apply as individuals (no team applications).
- All ideas must be legitimate, legal business concepts.
- The concept being submitted cannot have received any seed/angel/venture capital (VC) funding before the application deadline.
- If this is a currently operating startup or small business, it has to have been founded/launched within the past three years and make less than $75,000 in total annual sales and revenue.
- To participate, you MUST be available to attend this fully online event on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (MST).
- Your entire pitch must be two (2) minutes or less. You may use up to three (3) slides during your pitch.
