While attending CU Denver in 2012, Rob Carpenter heard about The Climb | Jake Jabs Business Plan Competition, an annual business development competition for aspiring entrepreneurs and startups. Carpenter entered his startup business, Applt Ventures, and the company has since become a great success.

AppIt Ventures is a full-service mobile application development company that makes affordable apps which are easy to use, beautifully designed, and as Carpenter says, just work. AppIt Ventures is focused on helping entrepreneurs succeed by offering strategic consulting services and leveraging post-launch marketing strategies as a part of their full-service offering.

Carpenter entered the Jake Jabs Business Plan Competition and pitched his mobile application company to local entrepreneurs at the finals event. His hard work, strategic business plan, and engaging presentation won him Co-First Place at the 2012 competition. He gained both financial awards and invaluable networking opportunities through the competition, which helped launch Applt Ventures into the successful company it is today.

“Winning the Business Plan Competition in 2012 fundamentally changed the growth trajectory for AppIt Ventures. The prize money and connections that were made was invaluable, but the access to media and a wider audience yielded clients that we’ve been working with for years. So when the question is asked about how the Jake Jabs Center has helped my business, it’s put me in a place I’d never dreamed of. I’m living proof that the program enables dreams.”
